How Much Does an Amalfi Coast Wedding Cost? An Honest Guide
Every year, dozens of couples write to me with the same first question — sometimes shyly, sometimes straight out: “What does it actually cost to get married on the Amalfi Coast?”
I’m Ivan, a wedding videographer born and based here. I film 30+ weddings a year in Positano, Ravello, Amalfi and along the coast, which means I see the real numbers behind these celebrations every single week — from intimate elopements to villa buyouts. So here’s the honest answer, without the vagueness you’ll find elsewhere.
The Short Answer
Most destination weddings on the Amalfi Coast with 50–100 guests land between €70.000 and €150.000 all-in. Intimate weddings (up to 30 guests) typically run €30.000–€60.000. An elopement for two can be beautifully done for €10.000–€20.000 including a stunning setting, photography and film.
Can you spend less? Yes. Can you spend triple? Absolutely — I’ve filmed both, and some of my favourite films come from the smallest days.

These are the ranges I see most often across the weddings I film. Your planner will refine them for your specific date, venue and guest count — high season (May–June, September–October) and Saturday dates sit at the top of each range.
What Makes the Amalfi Coast Different (and Worth It)
Logistics are part of the magic
Positano has no flat ground and Ravello sits 350 metres above the sea — which is exactly why your photos and films will look like nothing else on earth. But it also means boats, shuttles and porters are real line items here, not extras. Budget for them from the start and nothing will surprise you.
High season is truly high
The coast essentially books out from May to October. If your heart is set on a Saturday in June, expect premium pricing everywhere — or consider a Thursday or Friday, where venues are often more flexible and your favourite vendors are still available.
Vendors here are specialists
The planners, florists, photographers and videographers who work this coastline do destination weddings for international couples all year long. You’re not paying “tourist prices” — you’re paying for teams who know exactly how to run a flawless day on a cliffside.
Where It’s Worth Investing (a Vendor’s Honest Take)
I’ll be transparent about my bias: I’m a videographer. But after hundreds of weddings, this is what I genuinely see. The flowers are composted the next morning. The cake is eaten. The dress is worn once. What survives the day are the memories — and the two things that carry them: your photographs and your film.
The couples who tell me “we’d spend it all again” are almost always the ones who invested in how the day would be remembered, not just how it looked for six hours. Whatever videographer you choose — choose carefully who you entrust your memories to.
Three Ways to Save Without Feeling It
1. Marry on a weekday. Same coast, same sunset, noticeably better rates almost everywhere — and it’s how my Elopement & Intimate collection is designed.
2. Shorten the party, not the coverage. A magnificent four-hour celebration beats a diluted eight-hour one — and every vendor’s “extra hours” cost more than their core service.
3. Choose a venue that’s already beautiful. A terrace over the sea in Ravello needs far fewer flowers than a blank ballroom. The coast does the styling for you.

Is it cheaper to get married on the Amalfi Coast than in the US?
Often, yes — surprisingly. A 100-guest luxury wedding in New York or California regularly exceeds $200.000. The same level of celebration on the Amalfi Coast, with better views, typically costs less — even after flights.
How much does a wedding videographer cost on the Amalfi Coast?

Do we need a wedding planner?
For a destination wedding here: yes, truly. The coast’s logistics (boats, permits, stairs, tides, church schedules) are not something to coordinate from another continent. A good planner pays for themselves.
When should we book our vendors?
